Garganey & Chiffies
A nice little double whammy today! I popped over to Rainham to see the 3 Garganey that have been showing since Sunday and although distant and probbaly at the top end of distance for my scope to get good views without increase magnification and decreasing colouring i saw 2 of them for probably 45 minutes before having to leave.
However on route to them through the Woodland Zone i heard a Chif Chaf making its call and failed in trying to locate it. Sure enough within a minute i heard another and found this sitting at the top of a smallish tree and had good views before it flew out of sight.
Both birds are Lifers & Year Lists with the Chiffchaf being a Findind First as well
